What it has not yet done is put a verified robot in a named customer’s building. Those two facts belong in the same paragraph, and most coverage separates them. Neura Robotics was founded in 2019 by David Reger, who remains CEO, and is headquartered in Metzingen in southern Germany. The company describes itself as a Physical AI company and says it employs over 1,500 people. It is privately held and builds robots across several categories, with the 4NE-1 humanoid as its most visible product. Its positioning is full-stack: it develops the hardware, the sensing and the software layer together, rather than assembling a machine around someone else’s control stack. That is a harder and more capital-hungry route than buying in components, and it is the reason a European company needed a round this size to stay in the race.
The strategic bet is not really the robot. It is the training data. Neura has been building what it calls NEURA Gyms, physical training centres where robots learn on real work, including one opened with RWTH Aachen University. Each site pairs physical training with simulation and feeds the results into Neuraverse, the company’s cloud platform linking robots, developers and industrial partners. The reasoning is sound and widely shared across the industry: the binding constraint on useful humanoids is no longer actuators, it is real-world data at scale.

How Much Has Neura Robotics Raised, and on What Terms?
This is where reading the primary document pays off, because the company’s own release and the headlines about it say different things.
The round was first reported while it was still being raised. In April 2026 it was described as roughly EUR 1 billion at a valuation of about EUR 4 billion, and that earlier report is the April line in my own evidence ledger for the 4NE-1. By the time it closed it had grown, and the figures below are the closing ones.

“Up to $1.4 billion” and “raised $1.4 billion” are not the same sentence. The first describes a facility with conditions attached. The second describes money in the bank. Almost every summary of this round uses the second.
None of this suggests anything improper. Milestone-gated tranches are ordinary in large private rounds, and a company is not obliged to publish its valuation. The point is narrower and useful: if you are weighing Neura’s staying power as a supplier, the committed figure is smaller than the headline, and how much smaller is not public.
The European Investment Bank’s presence deserves its own line. The EIB is the EU’s public lending institution, and its appearance among the named investors is a policy signal as much as a financing one. On the evidence I have been able to record, nothing yet with a named customer.

Read that fairly. Tier 3 is not an accusation and it is not unusual. It is the largest single group on my index, 10 of the 22 models I have rated, and it includes well-funded American programmes, because moving from a stage demo to a customer’s floor is genuinely hard and slow. The rating describes the public record on a given date, nothing more, and it changes the moment a named customer or an independent source documents a deployment.
What it does mean is that the $7 billion valuation and the billion-dollar pipeline claim rest on expectation rather than on delivered installations. If your procurement process requires reference customers, Neura cannot currently supply one on the public record. That is a normal question to put to the company directly.

What Does Neura’s Pricing Approach Mean for a Buyer?
Neura sells through a quotation process rather than a price list, which is a normal way to sell industrial equipment and says nothing bad about the machines. The verified price status for the 4NE-1, along with its published specifications, is on the 4NE-1 index page.
For budgeting the consequence is practical: you cannot benchmark Neura against a machine with a public list price until you hold a quote, and that quote will be shaped by configuration, support terms and volume. What Does Neura Mean for a European Buyer?
The honest answer is that it means an option, not yet an alternative.
The strategic appeal is obvious. What that does not change is your compliance work. - What conformity documentation ships with the machine, and who is the responsible entity on it?
- What is the quoted price for our configuration, and what is included in support and spares?
- Given that the Series C is described as “up to” a figure with milestone conditions, what is the committed capital behind the delivery and support commitments in this contract?
The fourth question is not hostile. It is the same question any procurement function asks of a supplier whose product does not exist in volume yet, and a company confident in its funding will answer it.
